Discontinuation Notice

HomeControl+

Dear Customer,

We got in touch last year to inform you about the discontinuation of the HomeControl+ app following the launch of HomeControl2.0. We just wanted to update you with the latest information on the discontinuation and the timescales involved.

From April 2022, we’ll be removing HomeControl+ from the app stores (Google and Apple). 

What this means? 

HomeControl+ will be unavailable for any NEW downloads of the app. The app will still work if it is downloaded on to a device before this removal date.

From June 2022, we won’t be developing HomeControl+ any further. 

What this means? 

In our plans, HomeControl+ will continue to function until June 2023 at the latest. After this date, the app will no longer function or be able to connect to Pyronix control panels. If during this time, there are any major updates to iOS or Android operating systems which causes the app not to work, Pyronix will not undertake any further development on the app and users should continue to switch to HomeControl2.0.

Why we’re doing this 

HomeControl+ has been out for a number of years and proved popular in the early days of the launch of our App and Cloud connected systems. However, as technology has moved on, our decision to change the platform to HomeControl2.0 was borne out of wanting to provide you with the latest advances in technology and benefits that an app built using up to date tools can offer, including integration with geofencing, smartplugs, and more to come. HomeControl2.0 is the platform for the future.

The HomeControl2.0 app has proved extremely popular since launch. You should continue to use this app on new installations and migrate your existing HomeControl+ users across to the new app, which is easily done over the phone or on a maintenance visit.

Latest HomeControl2.0 developments – coming soon! 

HomeControl2.0 is being constantly developed and improved; we are due to release an update soon which includes smartplug compatibility for home automation, as well as quick action widgets for arming and disarming the system more easily from the home screen of the device, rather than having to manually open the app, connect to the system and then take the required action.

Migrating to HomeControl2.0 

We’ve created a number of videos which show how easy it is to switch across to the new HomeControl2.0 app. You can send them to your customers or view them yourself below.

Since June 2021, there has been a message on HomeControl+, informing users that they need to move across to HomeControl2.0. We will be making a change to this informing end users of the need to switch and the new deadlines in place.
